The FAQ has been created and posted. I suppose the next non-fic update to contrary-perfection really should be some sort of profile, but I find those things really fucking annoying distasteful, so I may skip it altogether.

I should have a chapter for you in relatively short order, I had hoped to have it done before the 14th, but... I got distracted.

3:47pm: minor Site update...
Altered main/index.html to remove image content, as I was experiencing problems with hotlinkers (again). Anyway, in the end, C-P was always a word driven site.

I am making a FAQ and Profile section in the next day or two, as there are a few questions were honestly are asked frequently. I asked on the miniBB earlier if people had questions they'd like to see addressed, but no one replied. I figure this post on /main (and livejournal) will be "last call", and then I'll make the FAQ and call it good. So, if you'd like to see a specific question addressed, please comment on my miniBB in the appropriate thread. At this point, I really only have 4-5 questions that I'd consider FAQ worthy, which honestly are 'FAQ'.

Not sure how important a profile is to you all, either, what on earth would you like to know about me? Somehow I think spoiling the 'mystery' of myself might ruin the stories for you. Who knows, I might wind up being a Hello Kitty Bulldyke in love with Brittany Spears -- or maybe that'd actually draw readers in.

Huh.

Anyway, the FAQ and Profile bits are two points where a little outside opinion would aide and actually alter my decision making.

I have uploaded Lahl, chapter five. It's far shorter now, having been cut in half for publication. I'm getting ready for work, so I'm not going to spam all the multitudes of forums and whatnot, too bothersome.

I would appreciate some feedback, if you're able. I'm not 100% sure that this part of the chapter works well on its own, as a chapter, and I fucking hate that feeling.

I've cut the chapter quite literally in half, at what I hope is a logial point. That'd make Chapter 5 about 24 pages long. Before I release it, I'd like it proofed by someone who is a little less precious with the story than I am. If I don't get any volunteers in a timely manner, I'll just release the chapter and hope it doesn't suck ass.

7:33am: A minor update, No Story
Altered the layout to the minibb, uploaded my story archives, edited all the stories on C-P so that each story has a proper header and footer.

I'd like to apologize for all the delays in updates. This story (Lahl) is getting... quite massive, despite my thrashing against it. And at the risk of sounding as though I were creating excuses, I did survive a few medical problems, travel across the world, and get myself burgled in the mean time. I'm starting to really like this bastard known as "Lahl", so I'd like to at least tell you that I'm working on it.... quite enthusiastically, I might add. My desire to work on it has been completely renewed....It'll probably be longer than Detente, when all's said and done. I've even given up the idea of numbering the chapters, and titled them all (Ch1, 'The Red Shirt'; Ch2, 'Culmination'; Ch3, 'Bleach in the Bathtub'; Ch4, 'Player'; Interlude [not published yet], 'He who bares fangs at god'... etc etc etc...)

I'd also like to thank those who comment, and apologize to them especially, since I suck greatly at replying to comments. It never fails, given the oppertunity at social faux pas, I seize it with both hands and wring. I am shit for interpersonal communication. Honestly, I read and reread people's comments unto eternity. It helps me know that I'm not 99% pure egotistical ass. Thanks to you all, I'm fairly sure I hover around 78.

Anyways... yeah. Lahl has become a giant. I've decided to make the chapters shorter, not short. Relative to their previous length, they'll probably average at least 20 pages shorter each. I imagine there's another 3 chapters left in Lahl, and each of them will be quite long. The "good" news is, after this chapter, the others will be ridiculously easy.

1:19am: Minor update : Lahl and Health
I'm fine. I have to admit to... a minor crisis of spirit, but health wise I'm fine.

Lahl keeps getting longer and longer, and chapter five is something along the lines of thirty pages, now. After examining the pacing, I've determined that my six-chapter target is completely.... assinine. There's no way in hell I can finish this off in six chapters. With appropriate effort, I can likely get it done in around seven or eight chapters, at my current pacing. The damn thing is novelizing itself (which is... crappy. It's a relatively OK fanfiction, but it'd be an awful novel).

What I lack right now is motivation, I have to admit. It's gotten to the point where I can barely open the document without at least a fifth of vodka watching my back.

I apologize, to those of you who actually want to read the rest of the story, for all the delays.



I openly admit that I'll probably do whatever I want, with Lahl, but even so, I was wondering if you'd care to give me your opinion. Would it be better for you all, for me to release several shorter chapters (<30), or would you rather I finish off all the chapters at the length that my mind insists on snipping them? I think chapter five, if I continue on this path, will probably be along the lines of 42 pages, in font size 12 and Times New Roman. I can see a few joints where I can snip it off into pieces, doing so will probably give you chapters in 20 page incriments.

7:54pm: Anaphylactic Shock/Anaphylaxis
Anaphylactic Shock/Anaphylaxis :: In a recent visit to my doctor, it was stated that I more than likely experienced anaphylaxis on March 14th, 2005. I must now carry around medication for it at all times, and will probably aquire an epipen as soon as they figure out what I had the reaction to. Apologies extended for story delays, I'm all over it now. I promise.

So, my friend in the medical field thinks that I went into anaphylactic shock, on Monday (Yes, this would be White Day, the day I promised you two stories). She made a big deal out of it, and wants me to go to the doctor.

I looked up the symptoms, and I have to admit that what I went through is remarkably simmilar, if not exactly what I went through. I've felt worse in the past, but I admit that it was severe. The itchy welt, the breathing, the numbness, the collapsing, the very quickness of it. Yeah, not good stuff.

And I'm blowing off another deadline, mother fucker. I know, I suck.

I need to spend some time on it, make sure I keep current versions on my pen drive. If it happens again, and I wind up in the hospital this time, I want to be able to work on my stories.

I do feel better, however, and I'm going to resume working on it again, now that I have proper use of my hands.

3:39pm: author's note
Shortly after I released the last piece, I became violently sick. It's taken a lot out of me, so the Schwarz fic might get bumped back more than just a day. I'm getting better already, but the violence of my illness has so fucked me over, I figured it was only fair to warn people who might actually be interested in reading the next chapter. I'm not sure that I'll be posting this 'news' anywhere else, though. Too much work, and at this point, typing is laborous.

1:30am: Lahl 2004, Chapter Four update
I intend to have chapter 4 of Lahl done, on or before December 1st. I don't want to pin a date, at the moment, but I'd like to have the whole damn thing done on or before Janurary 1st, so I can dedicate time to my novel. I've dragged this thing on long enough.

And on a side note, did anyone else notice I fucked up the title of the last chapter? I called it chapter 3.5, so the chapter sequence went 1, 2, 3.5. For those of you who don't get what I'm saying, it ought to have read, 1, 2, 2.5. The point is, in the end, moot, since I've decided that 3.5 is going to be 3, anyways, and it isn't a half chapter like I originally intended it to be.

well. just fyi, i reuploaded the two tachi sites today. the layout is the same, and the content is the same, however.... they do exist now, and i suppose that is a step in the right direction. i hadn't got around to making them public again, since the last time my server was comprimised.

the ev1server people swapped out the RAM in the server last night, while i was sleeping. granted, i hadn't given them permission to do this, but the damn thing was back online.

hardware issue, not my fault, and i don't need to restore the fucker.

i think this is the first time the staff actually impressed me.

so, despite it all, my websites are back online.

10:18pm: the server is dead.
the server is dead, and requires a full restore to work again. i was not hacked, it's more along the lines of a hardware issue. unfortunately, it costs money. and i'm not sure i want to pay for another restore on the fucker. so contrary-perfection.net is down, at the moment, while i try and figure out if running a server is worth it.

it costs so much money to begin with, but to have to add the additional costs of a full restore... *sigh*

so the site, in all its redness, is down for an undetermined amount of time.

I got contrary-perfection.net back up and running. I removed the content management system and redesigned the whole site. I can't say it's pretty, my design skills have really degraded over time, but it doesn't seem to suck too bad, either.

Contrary-Perfection.Net is basically back up. I have all my stories back, except "Regularly Scheduled Programming" -- which luckily was very unpopular, anyways.

I won't have time to design a new template and add a commenting system for a while, but all the stories are more or less back.

Just for your information, in case anyone noticed, contrary-perfection.net (and, in fact, all the websites I own and host), is down.

I'm not sure when it'll be back online, as the server was hacked, I had to have a new hard drive installed, a new webhosting control panel installed, and now I have to wait for the license to come through so I can manually remake all the websites.

Just in case any of you wondered.
